Hi there
I recently bought some SC1 boards from Paul@ CR signals and am trying to get them working in extended accessory mode with JMRi but am having an issue.
Its a 3 aspect with call on, so I'm trying to use cv38 = 139.
Its programmed and read back as correct however the signal displays no aspects when connected back to the main DCC supply after programming (non extended mode is ok using CV38 = 19)
I also Have a red/white GPLS connected on H/J and it does not light either.
Does this mean it has an older firmware ?

Hi Steve
Some command stations/accessories block extended packets. Which command station are you using?

Hi Paul
ive tried it with the following
Prodigy Advance 2 wireless Ecos 50200 Digikeijs DR5000
I seem to have 2 problems
1. Signals display no aspects when CV38 set to any of the extended mode options 2. When using a non extended CV38 option, if the signal is displaying a yellow aspect, setting green or red does not cancel the yellow.

Hi Steve
It will be handy to see the extended commands being sent if you have a log.
The non-extended uses the matrix driver to ensure that all the required commands are sent. The manual has not been updated yet since the matrix driver was added to JMRI so still describes the older methods which are a little more complicated.

ok Paul i'll grab a couple of JMRI logs, as its not working with that either
I know i keep banging on about this, but on boot up shouldn't the signals be displaying an aspect ?

ok Address set to 55 using jumper method, and confirmed operative using non extended mode JMRI connected to Digikeijs DR5000 over ethernet using LOCONET Packet data sent using JMRI for a proceed and a danger aspect [ED 0B 7F 33 01 0D 75 00 00 00 2C] Send packet immediate: 3 bytes, repeat count 3(51) DHI=0x01, IM1=0x0D, IM2=0x75, IM3=0x00, IM4=0x00, IM5=0x00 packet: 75 00 . [B4 6D 7F 59] LONG_ACK: the Send IMM Packet command was accepted. [ED 0B 7F 33 01 0D 75 02 00 00 2E] Send packet immediate: 3 bytes, repeat count 3(51) DHI=0x01, IM1=0x0D, IM2=0x75, IM3=0x02, IM4=0x00, IM5=0x00 packet: 75 02 . [B4 6D 7F 59] LONG_ACK: the Send IMM Packet command was accepted. Response from DR5000 is [LL0] L:IMM packet to track Which i assume means its passed on transparently ? Steve

Hi Steve
At boot up the signals will either display the last appearance shown, or if the decoder is reset with a decoder reset packet the contents of CV37. If no reset packet is sent then the default last appearance is blank, and the default for CV37 is blank too. Not all command stations send a decoder reset packet at power on or when recovering from a stop condition so CV37 may not do anything - I have not used a Digikeijs so cannot comment on what it does.
I will have a look at the packets in your capture and see what they are doing.

Hi Steve
The packet looks to be correct - signal 55 aspects red and green.
Did you set the address with the jumper while sending extended packets to mast 55? It is hard to tell from the way that Loconet handles turnout commands but I suspect that the turnouts will be offset by four addresses the same as Digitrax so that signal mast 55 will use the same address as turnout address 51.

CV37=130 should be the correct value for red at reset, or CV37=65 for green.

Hi Paul
if i get you right, you want to know if i've tried setting the address by sending commands from the JMRI dcc signal decoder ?
I had set the address using the normal turnout method, but have tried setting the address by sending aspect commands from JMRI with no success, ive also tried using addresses +4 and -4 from base and still nothing.
Ive also set CV37 to 130 as above, but still nothing displayed on reset.

Hi Steve
It is looking like the command station is not forwarding the packets from the Loconet to the track. On Digitrax this is a configuration option, but not sure how this works with Digikeijs. I wonder if perhaps the packets are being routed to the non-booster Loconet instead of the booster one.
