I recently purchased a couple of SC1 boards, to test compatibility with my DCC System (Lenz) and Software (TrainController / iTrain), for a new layout I have just started to construct.
I configured the following CVs (using Programme Mode on the Lenz system):
- Address Mode (CV29) = 128 (Decoder Address Mode)
- Base Address (CV1 = 17, CV9 = 0) = (CV9 x 256) + (CV1 x 4) – 3 = 65
- Type (CV38) = 3 (4-Aspect with 3 Routes)
After some testing the SC1 appeared not to be working; reconfiguring CV38 to 8 (8 Individual Outputs), I discovered that the Base Address actually being recognised was: (CV9 x 256) + ((CV1 – 1) x 4) – 3 = 61
I’m wondering if this is because Lenz Accessory Decoders normally have addresses (in CV1) from 1 upwards, but the SC1 recognises addresses from 0 upwards (i.e. an offset of 1)?
After re-configuring the following CVs:
- Base Address (CV1 = 18, CV9 = 0) = (CV9 x 256) + ((CV1 – 1) x 4) – 3 = 65
- Type (CV38) = 3 (4-Aspect with 3 Routes)
the Signal (Main Aspects & Routes) correctly responded to the Handset (using Addresses 65 – 68) and also from TrainController (Silver v8.0).
iTrain configuration for 4-Aspect Signal (Address 65/66) with 3-Routes (Address 67/68) as follows:
Signal Type: UK (4-Aspect)
Address: Double (1,2)
Address (1): 65
Address (2): 66
Connected to: Both
State | Aspect | Output (65) | Output (66) |
Danger | Red | 1 = 65 : Green | 3 = 66 : Green |
Caution | Yellow | 1 = 65 : Green | 4 = 66 : Red |
Preliminary Caution | Double Yellow | 2 = 65 : Red | 4 = 66 : Red |
Clear | Green | 2 = 65 : Red | 3 = 66 : Green |
Signal Type: SNCF (Home Signal Disque) - Although any 4-Aspect should suffice, but this shows separate lights for each Route
Address: Double (1,2)
Address (1): 67
Address (2): 68
Connected to: Both
State | Aspect | Output (67) | Output (68) |
Voie Libre | No Route | 1 = 67 : Green | 3 = 68 : Green |
Avertissement | Pivot & Route 1 | 2 = 67 : Red | 3 = 68 : Green |
Ralentissement 30 | Pivot & Route 2 | 1 = 67 : Green | 4 = 68 : Red |
Ralentissement 30 + Avertissement | Pivot & Route 3 | 2 = 67 : Red | 4 = 68 : Red |
Hope this helps others.
Best Regards
Martin
