New to this forum having just purchased SC1 & DP8 for dapol semaphore signal's with Digikeis DR5000 and Itrain software. Setting up the item's as per instructions, I have successfully changed CV38 to 15 and changed the address using the 4+1 sequence, (the semaphore signal responds both ways when changing the address) I have also confirmed after reconnecting everything by reading the CV's on the DR5000, however when trying to operate the signal's with the given address nothing happens. Any advice appreciated

Hi Captawol
A few questions to see what is happening:-
1. Have you tried using the jumper method to set the address?
2. What address are you trying to set the decoder too?
3. What address are you using to operate the signal?
4. What values do you have in CV1, CV9, and CV29?

Hi Paul thanks for replying. The last effort I set CV38 to 15 on the service track of DR5000, then onto the main track with the jumper set the address to 105 although I've tried other addresses not used on my system. As with some previous attempts, the signal moves both ways setting the address, but reconnecting after removal of the jumper there is no response. When I connect back to the service track, the address and CV values are correct.
I have removed the unit for now whilst I progress with other things as it was bogging me down, but I did make a note of some CV'sCV 9 = 0 29 =192 Presuming CV1 = 105 as last address I read and tried I tend to use blocks of 8 in addresses as per the DR5000 switch panel (1,9,17,25 etc) and here are those in use which I would not have tried 1 - 16 Locos
81 - 96 Cobalt turnouts (in process of being removed) 121 - 136 DR4018 x2 MTB MP1 turnouts 201 -248 DR4088 x3 feedbacks As I mentioned, I'm presently removing the last of the Cobalt's which are being replaced by MP1's (hardest part being removal of the Cobalt sticky pads from base board) so will complete this and connect the SC1 & DP8 up again.

Hi
I would expect to see 109 in CV1 in that case, so you really need to read the value so we know what is in there.
You have said that 1-16 are locos and 81-96 are cobalts, how does the DR5000 know that 105-113 are turnouts and not locos or feedbacks or signals? (SC1 behaves like turnouts in this mode.)

Yes CV1 = 109 Think there maybe some crossing of wires here as to the addresses. The range's for loco's and Cobalts are what I have decided and they are all individually assigned (Cobalts were direct to the main track), each time I add a loco I use the next available address in that range, similarly I did the same with the Cobalts as I added them. I have now just removed and replaced the last of the Cobalts so the 81 to 97 range is now available as the DR4018's controlling the replacement MP1's use address range 121 - 136.

You have several address spaces that do not necesarily conflict. There is the short loco address, long loco address, turnout address and signal address. SC1 with DP8 uses turnout addresses.
I have not tested a Dapol signal with a DR5000 yet, but I will next time I have access to one.
