I have just bought a CR1 with 4 common cathode 2 aspect signals. I have programmed the device with base address 16 which gives the output on A & B as accessory 61. CV38 is 0 and CV29 is 128. I am programming using the Hornby Elite and all works fine and reads back the correct CVs. The signals flash momentarily when programming. When I connect to the track bus, there is no output to the signals . I am trying with accessory 61 on the Elite and also using JMRI. All worked fine on a test set up using an old Hornby decoder (which is common anode!) . I have tried new CR signals and also a test signal, both common cathode. So - I can only guess that the decoder has a fault, or there is a CV setting wrong somewhere. Advice welcome.

Update - by setting CV37 to 85, I now have one of the LEDs on at startup. But it is not recognising address 61 from the command station (or any address) so there must be a setting somewhere for it to recognise Xpressnet from the Elite??? I also changed to program the adress with output address mode. but still no joy. Green signal is on at startup but will not trigger either directly with the Elite or via JMRI Dave

Hi Dave, Have you tried the automatic method of setting the address as per page 21 of the manual with the decoder connected to the programmer track terminals of the Elite? As far as I'm aware there is not a setting on the decoder to recognise Expressnet. Regards, Paul

I havent tried the automatic method - will try that next. It is strange that the CVs are all setting correcntly, and reading back correctly. It even starts up in the default state of green. However, in normal operation, it just wont toggle on the address set at 61 for ports A & B (Cv38 = 0)

Good news – its working
Programmed as 61 using page 21 instructions – it didnt work – but does work at address 57 !!!
So – I think we have a solution! Its always 4 different using an Elite

I did the sums and got the answer of 57 too (address=(16-2)*4+1). It will be 61 on a Roco command station. To get 61 on the elite use CV1=17.
